PartMaster Turning PROFESSIONAL Edition

PartMaster Turning PRO is designed to create complete programmes for NC and CNC lathes and turning centres.

PartMaster Turning is completely menu driven so that no programming language needs to be learned all required geometry is automatically extracted from a PartMaster CAD drawing or imported from DXF, IGES or STEP files.

PartMaster Turning is ideal for those new to CNC machine tools whilst offering many advanced features for the experienced user.

 Advanced Machining functions include:

Full Machine Tool Simualtion
Import IGES, STEP and DXF files

Automatic Gouge free machining
Constant Surface Speed Control

Canned cycles for Facing,Turning, Grooving, Threading & Drilling

  • Supports 2 axis lathes with either a rear or front turret or toolpost, also lathes with a cross slide configuration. Sliding head machines are also supported

  • Supports Bar feeders and pullers and Part catchers. Automatic chuck open / close and Programmable tailstocks.

  • Multiple Tooling databases with user configurable tools.

  • Tool types – Turn – Face - Groove – Trepan (Face Groove) – Boring bar – Thread – Drill – Ream – Bore - Tap

  • Display tool centre line or complete tool animation with tool holder etc.

Machined from Casting

PartMaster allows you to define ANY shape that represents the stock material; you can then machine only the material between the stock and the finished profile. An easy to use yet very powerful function.
Many options such as grooving, threading and facing off require no geometry input at all, just define the Z, X, start and finish points and specify any options

Boring intricate profiles within PartMaster turning.

The system allows you to area clear a bore by indicating the start and finish points and a "check" surface. Because PartMaster knows the tool tip geometry it will not allow the tool to "overcut" the check surface.
Different finishing allowances can be specified in Z and X. The profile can then be finished machined with a boring tool or a grooving type tool.

PartMaster Threading

Machining threads is simplicity itself, you simply define the start and end coordinates and enter the required data using the dialog shown below. The thread may be parallel or tapered, internal or external. Using a Groove type tool you can even produce square Acme type threads.

Dolphin CadCam PartMaster Turning PROFESSIONAL Edition Profile Roughing
Profile roughing

The Profile Roughing option creates an extremely efficient toolpath, this minimises the amount of time the tool is "rapiding" between cuts and creates an even amount to be removed with a finishing pass.
You may also rough towards the centreline or towards the chuck.
Finishing allowances may be different in X and Z.

Finishing with Button Tool

Machining a profile with undercuts is easy, PartMaster knows the tool geometry and will not allow over cutting.
The second operation, shown above, allows the finished profile to be completed using a button type tool.
